Huahine brings together the pleasure of the lagoon and a quiet discovery of the Islands of Society. The landscapes of Huahine Nui and Huahine Iti, Maeva's heritage and the stages in the villages give desire to take its time, between land and ocean.

Huahine is included in our Polynesia 2028 program, with four nights scheduled at Mahana. For a custom stay, we study accommodation, meals, trips and activities according to your dates. The services of the group do not automatically constitute those of an individual journey.

A Sweet Discovery of the Island

What makes each stop meaningful.

Huahine Nui and Huahine Iti make up an island with contrasted landscapes. Around Maeva, the heritage brings another dimension to the discovery. Prefer a accompanying tour to understand the places, without reducing the step to a succession of photo stops.

Our 2028 program is for four nights in Huahine. It allows you to find this step in an already organized route; for a individual trip, the pace, departure and accommodation are studied separately according to your project.

From ancient traces to the routines of an inhabited island

Huahine proposes another relationship to Polynesia: villages and landscapes remain in the forefront, with the lagoon as a horizon rather than as a single subject. Huahine Nui and Huahine Iti allow you to vary the sights without changing the island. The discovery can be built around the heritage, roads and leisure times that leave a place for everyday life and small stops.

The charm of this stage lies in a way of looking. A market, a break near Fare or the discovery of an old site give as much relief as a spectacular activity. It’s not about promising a spontaneous meeting or an out-of-time island, but about preparing a curious, respectful and slow enough stay to appreciate its character.

Fare and the heritage of Huahine Nui

A first idea chooses a base to discover Fare and the surroundings, and then to dedicate a sequence to the traces of Maeva's heritage. Marae and cultural places get to be explained: an accompanied tour helps to understand their place in the landscape and history when it is organized for your stay, with access checked at the time of preparation.

The rest of the day can include a walk or a break on the water. This approach avoids the turning of the island into fast stops. The visits are selected according to your interests; the pleasure also comes from returning to a loved village, from a point of view and a fast-food before the next trip.

Huahine Iti and an island to explore slowly

Another day can be directed to Huahine Iti, with a place for coastal views and landscapes around the Bay of Maroe. Not everything is compulsory: a chosen route, a few stops and time for the frame form a complete discovery. The way of travel is determined according to your autonomy and the organization planned in the project.

The lagoon can enter the journey with activities whose conditions are specified. For some travellers, a momentum exit and free days are better than a dense naval program. The quality of the step then depends on the situation of the nights and how you want to live the meals, the calm moments and the discoveries around the accommodation.

Near the village or more secluded

A address near Fare and a remote accommodation do not offer the same daily. Access, meals and transfers needed should be compared according to your desire for autonomy and calmness.

Cultural discovery

The sites are not just photographic stops. If their story interests you, an appropriate presentation gives sense to the visit and invites you to respect the place of the places.

Free time

Reading, walking a little, enjoying the setting or returning to a village can be the heart of the stay. This desire deserves its place in the program, just as a visit.

Give the journey the right pace

A few nights allow you to approach both parts of the island while keeping light days. Only one day can we remove what we come for in Huahine. The duration is adjusted to the other islands and available connections, without requiring a complete tour or activity every day simply to fill the stay.

Extend without spreading too thin

Huahine responds to a desire for culture and landscapes before a stage centered on the lagoon in Bora Bora. It can also extend Moorea without repeating exactly the same experience. Villages, heritage and night atmosphere will guide this choice, rather than an abstract comparison of the islands or the search for the greatest number of scales.
