Exploring the Wild Contrates Universe

Imagine the discovery, concrete

Choose Patagonia at your own pace, on both sides of the Andes

Patagonia has the size of a great journey and the variety of several worlds. Walking at the foot of the mountains, watching a glacier from a gateway or walking through the steppe does not require the same commitment. Define what you want to live outside, then keep the entrance doors that make it consistent, without turning every day into a journey.

The Argentine and Chilean flags offer complementary perspectives, but they don’t necessarily need to be gathered in a first stay. Crossing a border and changing the base use time that could serve to a walk. A focused discovery can give a deeper impression than a big trace passed on the race step.

01

Glaciers and trails on the Argentine side

El Calafate can be a base for discovering the universe of the Perito Moreno glacier, according to the visits selected. El Chaltén brings a different shade, with its mountain landscapes and walking trails to choose for your level. Joining these environments varies day by day without considering each hiking as a mandatory goal to be achieved.

Housing, connections and free days should leave flexibility. Sometimes one person wants to walk a whole day, while another prefer a point of view and rest. The itinerary can take these differences into account, rather than present an emblematic trek as the only way to enjoy the region.

02

A Chilean approach around Torres del Paine

Puerto Natales and Torres del Paine inspire another project, between lakes, granite reliefs and steppe. Staying near the park or organizing from a city influences the days. Connection times and access to the starting points should be looked at before selecting the steps, so that you don’t confuse a step close on the map and a quick-accessful visit.

You can prefer several excursions a day rather than a rotating tour. This option is suitable for those who want to find the same comfort at night and adapt their effort. A multi-day walk circuit is another logic: equipment, nights and reservation restrictions must be examined specifically before choosing.

The actual walking demands

Distance, unlevel, wind and repetition of the days count together. Describe your recent habits instead of choosing only from a top photo.

Room for flexible days

A free morning can allow you to enjoy the landscape in a different way. A too tight route leaves little space for rest or adaptation related to the middle.

One or two countries

A combination can be exciting if its duration allows it. It does not automatically constitute a better first discovery; borders and connections must serve the way of the journey.

What changes the journey

Weather can hide a massive or change a route, even during the period chosen to travel. Access and nighttime are confirmed for the real route. Let’s build a journey where there are several ways to discover, and whose success does not depend on a single summit seen under a perfectly open sky.

How to go to the end of the world?

Days shaped by the landscape.

Lakes, pics and glaciers call to stay. Patagonia can be lived with big steps or with more contemplative discoveries: the pace is chosen before the map.

Two visually close routes can require very different efforts. We start with what you want to live in a day.

Choose a mountain range

Giving several nights to a place allows you to adapt to the weather.

Vary your perspectives

Walk, navigation and points of view do not require the same effort.

Keep some flexibility

A free day sometimes becomes the best opportunity to get out.

What is the pace for this experience?

A 12- to 20-day track prevents multiplying flights and roads. For a week, it is better to choose one sector than two whole countries.

How do you connect it with the rest of the trip?

The distance between the sites makes a route too ambitious tired. We place the nights and connections before adding excursions, with an explicit walking level. An arrival city, Fire Earth or another region only if travel time allows it.

What precautions should be taken in mind?

Follow the rules of parks and management decisions. Trails, navigations and ice access remain subject to the conditions. Never put yourself on ice without a suitable device.

Take discovery further

Two countries, several mountain ranges and the pleasure of lingering in the landscape

Patagonia crosses Chile and Argentina, with sectors that do not join together as the stops of a walk. Torres del Paine, El Calafate, El Chaltén and the Earth of Fire correspond to different routes. Choosing some leaves a more generous place for discovery.

Loving these landscapes does not require a demanding hiking every day. Eventual navigations, views and short stairs give other approaches. Forests, lakes and cries also make contemplative moments. The project starts from the day you want to live, and then chooses the appropriate bases and links.

Two directions to shape your journey

What thread will connect your itinerary?

Ideas for discovery to personalise according to your dates, pace and local possibilities.

01

El Calafate and El Chaltén on the Argentine side

El Calafate and El Chaltén can form an Argentine first axis. The Perito Moreno glacier and the Fitz Roy reliefs do not require the same days. Each base requires sufficient nights, explicit possibilities and an approach that corresponds to the level of activity desired during the stay.

In El Chaltén, walking and long hiking with unleveled are different experiences. Several nights give room for conditions and a lighter day. The journey should not depend on a single ambitious exit, held only for the expected view at the end of the road.

02

Torres del Paine and Chilean landscapes

Puerto Natales and Torres del Paine can be a full-fledged stay. The location of the nights changes daily travel and time in the landscape. A address near a famous name does not necessarily provide immediate access to all the discoveries imagined from the map.

A link to Argentina is then studied with the duration and possibilities of the stay. The combination must preserve continuity, rather than chain long transport days. The Earth of Fire is another extension, with separate nights and organization, not a quick tour.

The actual walking

Land, duration, level and exposure to the conditions must be specified. Contemplative alternatives allow to build a coherent journey when not all travellers want the same daily effort.

Distances and borders

The major sectors impose important connections. Hours and organizational changes are to be integrated before adding a region, to keep full days of discovery on site.

Room for the landscape

Wind, clouds and access can change the outputs. Several nights in a base bring flexibility, without promising a view, a navigation or a path in perfect conditions.

Give the journey the right pace

A dozen days or more can give time to a few bases, depending on entrances and exits. A short stay gains to choose a sector. Free time is not a vacuum: it allows you to find a landscape, walk differently or simply stay in the place.

Extend without spreading too thin

Buenos Aires, Santiago or a wine region can offer urban transition, depending on the flights and available days. Adding Atakama and several remote regions requires a much longer trip. A second night in a valued massive may be the most satisfying supplement of a first discovery.
