Here, the landscapes seem to have come out of another world: the immaculate immensity of the Salar of Uyuni, the colourful lagoons of the Altiplano, the majestic volcanoes and the isolated villages where ancient traditions are still well alive.

From Andean cities to the Salar, keep meaning in the journey
The streets of Sucre, the reliefs of La Paz, the Titicaca and the spaces of the Salar d’Uyuni tell different stories. To associate them requires thoughtful progress and enough nights. The clear facades of the cities and salt horizons gain to not be precipitated.
Culture and landscapes can form the wire of the stay, with clean choices. The height, the duration of the steps, the comfort of the nights and access conditions must be understood before deciding. A adventure impression does not replace a readable organization, nor days adapted to the expectations of each traveler.

Sucre, Potosí and discovering the Salar
Sugar invites to travel through places, streets and cultural places with time to understand the role of the city. Potosí brings a different perspective on Bolivia's history. Visits must be selected for their content and conditions, without automatically adding steps whose intensity would be misunderstood.
The Salar of Uyuni completely changes the horizon. Its discovery varies depending on the period: the mirror effect is neither permanent nor guaranteed, and some access can change. Lines, light and large spaces must preserve the interest of the stay when the landscape is presented differently than on the photograph imagined at first.
La Paz and Titicaca, another Andean perspective
A second axis can bring together La Paz and Lake Titicaca. The city deserves several views, between neighborhoods, reliefs and contemporary life. The visits are divided into reasonable days. An arrival should not be regarded as an immediate possibility to accomplish all the planned discoveries.
Copacabana and the lake shores give a different relationship to landscapes. Nights on the site avoid the only logic of quick excursion. Travels, stairs and cultural discoveries are chosen according to the conditions, with time to stay in the place and a good reading of the trips.
The Salar or the great southwest
A discovery of the Salar and a journey that integrates the South Lipez do not require the same duration or the same nights. The road days and the comfort of the steps must be explicit.
A coherent progression
Changes in height and intensity of the days participate in the journey. The needs of travelers are studied with competent interlocutors, without turning the route into a race between the highest places.
Allow margins for travel
Routes and possibilities of connection can change. Time between the big stages helps to preserve a flexible organization, with less tension on visits and on return.
Give the journey the right pace
A fifteen days can serve as the first base with a few selected regions. A short stay should further reduce its perimeter. Connection and rest times should not be hidden behind the number of sites announced: they are part of the quality of the Andin travel.
Extend without spreading too thin
Peru or Chile can extend a project of sufficient duration. This combination changes the organization and progress, it is not a simple add-on at the end of the program. Bolivia alone keeps a great scale, with more time in its cities and landscapes.
