A night in the wilderness begins before the sunset. There is the road that goes away from cities, the evolution of landscapes and the arrival in an environment of which the space is gradually perceived. The deserts of sand, stones and reliefs do not provide the same sensations. The silence is not an automatic feature of all campings.
Start the atmosphere you imagine: a few hours in the dunes, several days of discovery or a different night in the middle of a cultural journey. A fixed camp and a rotating step require separate organizations. The level of comfort, access time and the presence of other visitors should be described as clearly as the decor.
Southern Morocco, between valleys and dunes
A trail can link the landscapes of South Morocco to a step in the dunes, for example around Merzouga according to the route. The Chebbi Erge brings its sand horizon, while palm trees and villages give a cultural depth. This alternance avoids considering the desert as an isolated decor of its territory and its inhabitants.
The journey from the big cities must find its place in the stay. A night in the dunes does not necessarily justify too dense road days if your trip is short. Choose a consistent perimeter, interesting steps on the way and the time you really want to spend on the site.
An interlude in Oman or Namibia
In Oman, a stay associating heritage, mountains and deserts can offer marked contrasts, subject to the feasibility of the journey and the connections held. The camp is not the whole circuit: it must be incorporated into stages that you like the day too. Eventual activities are discussed separately, according to your expectations and local conditions.
In Namibia, the extendues of Namib can give a more landscape and itinerant tone to the stay. Sleeping near a desert does not mean being installed in the middle of the dunes. The position of the night may prefer a view, a convenient access or rest; these differences must be understood before comparing accommodation.
True privacy
The space of the tents, common spaces, animations and lighting change the atmosphere. If you’re looking for calm, say it rather than simply keep a category presented as a premium.
Comfort after the light
Water, water, sanitation, temperature and restoration determine the night. A photogenic tent does not answer these questions, which deserve a precise description of the chosen formula.
Time without activities
A free afternoon can be more valuable than a succession of animations. Find out if you want to walk, photograph, discover the surroundings with a guide or just put yourself.

The star sky depends on the environment, the moon and the weather. The project can look for a beautiful night experience without announcing a perfect astronomical night. The most important thing remains to choose a place and pace that corresponds to you, with the access and stay conditions confirmed before departure.

One to three nights are a track to take time, to integrate into a wider route with reasonable trips.
What precautions should we know?
Weather conditions and variable access. Do not leave alone outside the scheduled routes; water, protection and encadrement must correspond to the ground. The star is not guaranteed.
