Mallorca is more varied than a beach photography. Palma gives access to urban and cultural life; the Serra de Tramuntana draw landscapes of reliefs, terraces and villages; other coasts invite to water-to-water days. The success of the stay begins with this choice of atmosphere, before a hotel category.

The island is found without housing. A carefully chosen base allows you to change walks, visits and pauses. But an isolated address, a village and a neighborhood of Palma don’t give the same autonomy. How do you imagine your morning and evening? This answer describes the journey better than an ideal view chosen without looking at its environment.

Palma and the villages of the Tramuntana

A first idea combines a few nights in Palma to a step in the Sóller area or another village of Tramuntana. Cathedral, paths and streets of the capital deserve a foot-to-date discovery. The basic change then opens to landscapes where the roads, olives and reliefs take more place.

Valldemossa and Deià can bring stops, but the interest is not to cross several villages in one morning. Suitable walking, terrace and free time allow you to feel the places. Mountainous routes are prepared with a flexible pace; a short step on the map can offer many reasons to stop.

A coastal escape with discoveries close by

For a swimming pool stay, we first choose the coast and access to the sea sought. A large beach, cave or nearby port does not meet the same project. The sector of Alcúdia and Pollença opens a different reading than the south-eastern cave; gathering them every day is not necessary to enjoy the island.

The days alternate swimming and discovery of a village, a market or an interior landscape. This formula is suitable for those who enjoy a stable drop point. A car helps for certain outputs, but should not become a daily burden if the majority of pleasure is near and if you want to relieve your program.

The sea on foot

Distance, disadvantage and the nature of access are important. The mention "to the beach" is not enough to describe your daily life or to guarantee a situation suitable for everyone.

Evenings

Accessible restaurants, quiet of a garden or animation of a neighborhood: this choice of environment affects the stay as much as excursions and photos of the room or the beach.

The role of the landscape

The Tramuntana can be a panoramic discovery or a walk project. Level, conditions and movements must correspond to this intention, without presenting all the walks as equivalent.

Give the journey the right pace

A few days can focus on Palma and its close discoveries. One week allows one base or two, with real free days. A longer stay deepens the island without having to increase the number of kilometers; it rather allows returns, pauses and a better distribution of activities.

Extend without spreading too thin

If you hesitate with Corsica or any other Mediterranean destination, compare your desire for city, mountain and beach. Majorque can gather the three at a chosen scale. A second island is only of interest if it brings a distinct experience and connections compatible with the time you have.
