Jordan

The spirit of the destination

Jordan – Petra, Wadi Rum desert and biblical heritage

Between desert and ancient cities, Jordan reveals a millennial history grabbed in the stone. From Petra to Wadi Rum, it is a journey outside of time, marked by the brutal beauty of landscapes and the hospitality of the people of the desert.

Take discovery further

Discover Jordan through stone cities and open landscapes

The ruins of Jérash, the Mosaics of Madaba and the facades of Petra tell different stories. Jordan invites to understand how these places have taken shape in their landscapes. A progress and time of observation allow to link the heritage, instead of running from one site to the next before the night.

The Wadi Rum brings another scale, that of desert reliefs and light. The type of night and travel must be precisely defined. These trails remain cultural and landscape: they do not presume a possible starting point. The feasibility of the stay must be reviewed according to the regional context and official recommendations.

Two directions to shape your journey

What thread will connect your itinerary?

Ideas for discovery to personalise according to your dates, pace and local possibilities.

01

From Amman and Jerash to Madaba and Petra

A first plot can address Ancient in Jérash, then Madaba's heritage before joining Petra. The order of the steps depends on the selected links. A punctual accompanied tour can give keys to understanding, while retaining walking times and pauses that make the discoveries more pleasant.

Peter is not in treasure. The site involves distances, walking and, depending on the sectors, climbing. The perimeter must match your ease and leave time to stop. A proper and well explained discovery can be more enriching than a long day dedicated to achieving as many points as possible.

02

Combine the desert with a restful interlude

A step in the Wadi Rum region can change the pace after the visits. The landscapes are also appreciated from a camp and during measured travel. Vehicle, car, sanitary and isolation are concrete subjects to be examined before choosing, beyond photographing a tent in front of a dune.

The Dead Sea can be considered for another resting environment, while Akaba corresponds to a different coastal choice. These steps are not equal and do not necessarily add all to the path. Their conditions of access and stay must be reviewed before any confirmation, especially in the South.

Assess walking distances at Petra

Staying times, stairs, distance, and pauses describe a day better than a visit title. They help to choose a comfortable and relevant path.

Choose a night in the desert

A camp can be simple or more comfortable, isolated or close to other facilities. The access and content of the night must be specified.

Avoid accumulating detours

The country seems compact on a map, but visits and roads quickly fill the days. Good foundations give more time to the discoveries.

Give the journey the right pace

A week can serve as the basis for a concentrated discovery; a dozen days give more flexibility. These indications do not presume the current feasibility. Heat, rain, access and regional context may require a whole or part of the project to be reviewed.

Extend without spreading too thin

Extending a step in Jordan can be more consistent than adding one border and several transfers. More time near St. Petersburg or less pressing visit deepens the trip, subject to updated official conditions and recommendations.
